Billy Liberator and the Orbiteers made a successful return to post-Covid full band performance when they played in the Back Room at the Star Inn in Guildford. This wasn’t the simple corner of a forgotten pub room that it may sound, but an established stage setting for local bands in Guildford, and made for a grand return for the band.
The evening began with a Billy Liberator solo acoustic set, warming up the audience for the 21 song Orbiteers show. Billy’s acoustic set comprised:
Due South
Maintown
Future Days Now
As Good As You Are
There Goes My Girl
The Stuntwoman
Evelyn (with Annie Hunt on backing vocals)
Featuring a few cover versions by the likes of The Alarm, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Humble Pie, amongst liberator originals the Billy Liberator and the Orbiteers set comprised:
Beat My Retreat
Gimme Something Good (cover)
Mary Janes Last Dance (cover)
Just Be
Long Reach
Old Light
Breakdown (cover)
Can You Feel It?
Strength (cover)
American Girl (cover)
Rome at Last
Let It Ride (cover)
I Don’t Need No Doctor (cover)
Run No More
Say You Will
Alabama (cover)
New Years Day (cover)
Do I Know You?
Sourlies
Honey Bee (cover) – encore
Rockin In The Free World (cover) – encore
